Edwin is a highly visible leader, directing all aspects of day-to-day operations including strategic planning, development activities, resource development, marketing/communications, finance/budgets and operation of programs in support of organizational goals. He fully embraces Diverse Angels’ vision by building strength, stability and self-reliance in partnership with communities and community leaders.

Key projects include partnering with local Non-Government Organizations in Trinidad & Tobago. Diverse Angels will assist in the revitalization of specific local community centers that were either damaged during the heavy flooding or have been shut down due to the lack of resources and necessary funding to keep them running efficiently.

Additionally, we have to Feed the Homeless and Less Fortunate of Trinidad & Tobago. The mission and goal for Diverse Angels are to feed the people of both sister islands. Long-term goals include opening a major food bank in each city to provide nourishment and basic human necessities. Annually we also put on a Youth-A-Poolozza event where we bring in guest speakers to talk about goals and leadership and provide food, fun, and games for participants.

Edwin continually advances the organization’s mission in developing elite character in youth athletes by keeping kids off the streets and away from the television, while enhancing the values of teamwork, citizenship, and self-esteem.

The program also provides youth with unique cultural and educational experiences as some are experiencing their first competition or their first airline flight, their first time visiting a city out of the state, and other new and interesting things they are introduced to. There is an emphasis on meeting new friends from various cultures and backgrounds, and the ability to work as a team. The organization has traveled to compete in the AAU Junior Olympics in Virginia, Texas, North Carolina, and Iowa.
